Make an EnquiryThe All Inclusive resort made up of the Sol Río de Luna and the Sol Río de Mares is found on the Playa Esmeralda Beach at Holguín, on the east coast of Cuba. As well as the fabulous beachfront location, the hotel is also set in immense gardens in the Parque Marítimo Bahía de Navajo and is just a short 45 minute transfer from the airport. There is so much on hand at the resort that you probably won’t want to venture out and about but if you do, the Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort is approximately 5 km from the main resort centre with its bars and restaurants.
The lush landscaped grounds at the Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort are accented with ponds and bridges to create a calm and welcoming ambience. From these beautiful gardens you are just a few steps away from the fine beach of silver sand; a true tropical paradise!
There are a total of 464 rooms at the Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort; in addition to the 446 standard double rooms (with 2 double or 1 queen-size bed and sleeping up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child) there are 6 Junior Suites with ocean views and 12 Suites with magnificent views. Suites have a separate living room and an additional bathroom.
All rooms are furnished to a high standard with a terrace or balcony, fully equipped bathroom, air-conditioning, Satellite TV, direct dial telephone, hair-dryer, CD player, ironing board, mini-bar and safe.
The numerous services on hand at the Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort include the extensive reception/concierge desk where staff will be pleased to assist you with currency exchange, car rental and tours. There is a Gift shop/Boutique and for a little pampering why not visit the Hairdressing and Beauty Parlour? There is a laundry service, parking, doctor available on request and facilities for disabled/less mobile guests.
There are a total of 7 restaurants at the Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort. The two main buffet-style restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serve a wide range of international and regional specialities. Guests can also dine in two of the A La Carte restaurants once per week. These include; the Mediterranean restaurant on the beach, La Pinta, which tempts the tastebuds with international dishes at midday and typical Mediterranean cuisine in the evening and also plays host to a special Romantic Evening once per week. The poolside Italian restaurant features snacks during the day and Italian specialities in the evening and at 11pm a light night-time dinner is offered for those guests who have been too busy to eat so far! Carabela is the Mexican Restaurant next to the pool, with a snack service all day long and Mexican cuisine for dinner. La Nina is another restaurant on the beach and specializes in international dishes for lunch and authentic Cuban cuisine for dinner.
There is the Pool Bar serving cooling natural fruit juices and exotic cocktails prepared with Cuban rum. For the night owls the lobby bar is open until 2am and the Tea Corner & Bar is open 24-hours a day, serving coffee & tea (5pm to 6pm), and drinks including international liquores.
There are two swimming pools surrounded with sun terraces and sun beds at the Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort and a towel service is available. If you don’t want to just bob around on the water then a number of activities are on offer such as aqua aerobics, water polo and even an introductory scuba-diving lesson! The fabulous health centre has all the facilities you would expect including whirlpools, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area, massage treatments, gym & aerobics room. The All Inclusive programme offers a number of mon-motorised watersports from windsurfing and sailing to catamarans, snorkelling and kayaks. For dry land activity, why not try your hand at one of the many sports on offer including tennis at La Luna, table tennis, pool table, darts, minigolf, Boules, rifle shooting and bicycle hire?
The Sol Rio de Luna & Mares Resort runs it’s own children’s club with a playground and activities for little ones aged between 5 and 12. Cots and highchairs are available and there is even a babysitting service available on request (payable locally). There are also 2 kid’s sections in the adult swimming pools.
