Nearby is Varadero’s 18-hole golf course, the Plaza America shopping centre and a nightclub, whilst on-site there is a vast array of activity options, characterful bars and restaurants with a range of international dining choices. The property is colourful inside and out and has a charming and natural feel. It’s a great choice for families as well as couples, groups, honeymooners and wedding parties; no wonder then that Trip Advisor reviewers rank it in the Top 10 of Vardero hotels.
The grounds at the Sol Palmeras are impressive to say the least; a cultivated jungle with dense tropical vegetation and palms set in lawns between the paths. There are two good-sized pools with bridges and an island with a thatched bar. An attractive restaurant with wooden furniture is also under a thatched roof for that authentic beach feel. Heading towards the beach front guests will find a small bar adjacent to a sandy area, hammocks between the palm trees and the children’s play area and mini-club. Various activities are available throughout the grounds and there is an additional bar at the beach so you can quench your thirst without having to stray too far from all the activities on offer wherever you are.
The 608 guest rooms at the Sol Palmeras are set in blocks of 4 floors (and yes there are lifts). Standard rooms sleep up to 3 with 2 twin beds or 1 king-size bed, private facilities, air-conditioning, mini-fridge, TV and balcony or terrace. Junior suites, suites, bungalows and suite bungalows are also available; in addition to the facilities of the standard rooms, upgraded accommodations afford a preferential location, iron and board, coffee machine and umbrellas (though hopefully you won’t be needing those).
There’s plenty to keep you busy, entertained, well fed and watered at the Sol Palmeras; 2 outdoor swimming pools, 5 restaurants (1 buffet and 4 A La Carte), Steakhouse, Italian, Creole and Chinese, 24hr Cafeteria/Lobby bar, 7 bars (3 of which serve snacks), bar salon for indoor entertainment at night and Fun Pub open until 2am, Gift shop*, Jewellery shop*, Internet facilities*, and a shuttle service to Plaza America from 09:00 to 21:00 every 30 minutes.
The health and beauty salon offers hairdressing* perhaps for a special dinner or night out and massages* just for a treat; well you are on holiday!
For families the hotel operates its own kid’s club which features a mini disco and playground.
The entertainment programme includes a range of activities, live music, tuition in such things as Spanish and dancing and sporting options ~ so plentiful they merit a paragraph of their own…
Motorised watersports are provided 3 times a week as part of the All Inclusive programme (banana boat and water-skiing) as well as windsurfing, catamaran sailing, scuba diving* (includes an introductory scuba diving lesson in pool), snorkelling, pedalos and kayaks.
On dry land there are 2 tennis courts (which can be floodlit*), table tennis, minigolf, volleyball, football, aerobics, archery, rifle shooting and darts.
The All Inclusive programme operates 24-hours a day and includes the following:

Varadero is a great resort whether you want to visit Cuba’s infamous capital city of Havana or just enjoy a wonderful beach holiday in a fabulous location.
